Works by Shinpei Sakakura and Masahiro Sakakura, the 15th generation, are now available.
Today, we posted the works of a father and son, 15th generation Hagi artists, Mr. Shinpei Sakakura and Mr. Masahiro Sakakura, in our online gallery.
The Sakakura family has a history of 350 years as the founder of Hagi ware. Mr. Shinpei Sakakura is the 15th generation of the family.
This time, we are introducing tea bowls molded by hand in the same way as in the "Shinpei's Raku Kichizaemon's Hagi" exhibition. After molding and before firing, it was accidentally distorted, but since it was also an interesting shape, it was fired as it was. It is a bowl of coincidence, and I am introducing the tea bowl that Shinpei has a strong feeling for.
Mr. Masahiro Sakakura, whose father is the 15th generation Mr. Shinpei Sakakura, is attracting attention as the next generation of Hagi ware potters.
The work introduced here is a teacup that was recently loaned to several museums, and we were able to take care of the work that Mr. Masahiro has a special attachment to.
There are only a few of them, but we hope you will enjoy them.
